Age of Conan: Bi-Weekly Screenshot Series

In the 15th edition of our bi-weekly Age of Conan screenshot series we get two widescreen images of characters on horseback.

We get to see some effects in our most recent batch of screenshots from Funcom's Age of Conan. Every other week, they give us two images, so be sure to check back soon for more and remember we've been at this for a while!

After a brief hiatus, we're back with our series of exclusive screenshots from Funcom's upcoming MMO Age of Conan. In this batch we get a shot of an archer and a shot of a character on a horse.

Funcom chimes in today with two brand new images of Age of Conan, exclusively on WarCry. One of these images gives us a peek at the game's UI.

Today we have a brand new pair of screenshots as we resumes the bi-weekly Age of Conan screenshot series. This time we have an image of a character and a demon, as well as a shot from character creation that shows just how broken a nose can be.

In part ten of our bi-weekly Age of Conan screenshot series, we see one of the many prehistoric creatures that players run up against in their daily activities. Hyboria is the world of Age of Conan and is based on the popular novels by Robert E. Howard.

The screenshots keep flowing with two new images of battle from Funcom's Age of Conan. In these two images, we get one that shows the blood and gore of the game and another of a good old fashion battle.

Today we are lucky to bring you two more in our bi-weekly Friday series of Age of Conan screenshots. Exclusively, we get two images for you to enjoy every other week. This time, we have an archer on the hunt and a hero against a very large foe.

Today's screenshots are an odd mix as our bi-weekly screenshot extravaganza continues. Today, we have one of an evil, demonic bad guy and another of some player characters fighting something a little more conventional.

After a brief hiccup, today we get back on our bi-weekly screenshot schedule. The first image is of the Armsman Tavern in Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. The second is a scene from Conall's Valley.

We're back on track with two exclusive screenshots from Funcom. These images are of a Guardian in Stygia and come with a description, direct from the makers themselves:

A mid-level Guardian is traversing the burning deserts of the Khopshef Province, somewhere in Stygia. To cover the huge lengths of land he employs his noble steed to carry him over the dunes. The Khopshef Province is home to many dangers, including the undead. Using the weight of their rotting flesh, they try to break the Guardian by throwing their bodies at him.

In our fourth set of screenshots we get two images of what it's like to be up in the mountains of Hyboria. Age of Conan features some impressive next-generation graphics and is headed to homes late this year. Eventually, it will find itself DX10 compatible and on the Xbox 360.

Today we're making due without the official descriptions and instead just have the two new and exclusive screenshots direct from Norwegian developer Funcom. These two images show off male characters doing different tasks.

In the second part of our bi-weekly exclusive screenshots/description extravaganza, we get two more images from Funcom. Jørgen Tharaldsen gives us lengthy descriptions of "A Group in the Wilderness" and "Tortage at Night", our images this week. Take a look and let us know what you think on the boards.

A Group in the Wilderness Venturing into the wildderness of Hyboria is one of the things I look the most forward to when the game launches. When you addition do this in small groups it brings along an essential part of the MMO fun; exploring and fighting together with your friends. In this player group you also see a Demonologist pet, or an Incubus if you like. Its mighty dark wings are spread out, ready to do the bidding of its master. At this stage of the game the player has reached a level where he or she has captured the wildness of this most evil of demons, taming it to perform devastating attacks. Another great aspect of this image (which is not that clear for those outside Funcom) is how the female dresses are now fully in place. In this purple dress the Hyborian female becomes a beauty to behold, but just as able as any male to ferociously split skulls.

Tortage at Night The fabled pirate city of Tortage is a cesspool of sin and human decadence, and as fitting for a Conan game it will be the first town you get to as a player. In this haven for pirates a mad ruler reigns, as you learn upon exploring the city and the surrounding islands. As you dive deeper into the fascinating story, you also start to interact with other players for the first time, tying bonds of friendships which may last for months and years to come. The Tortage region is also the only part of Age of Conan with static night / day cycles, and by going to sleep at an inn you wake up at night, to play solo missions. This night image is taken just inside the city gates, with a sleepy guard standing on the left. I think the muscle play in the torchlight is nothing short of impressive for a PC game, and it says a lot about how detailed your character will become in the game.
