When we got a chance to speak with Diablo II artist Ben Boos, we also asked him to weigh in on the controversy surrounding Diablo III's art direction. Boos, who was "instrumental in setting the basic tone for many of the environments in D2," had some interesting things to say about how the Blizzard team came up with the environmental tone in D2, and how it's reflected in the third game.
