About the Game

The planet of of Rubi-Ka serves as the backdrop for a futuristic power struggle. In the year 30,000, ubiquitous technology changes how people live their day-to-day lives, where medicine can heal any illness and deadly assassins can kill almost any target. The Omni-Tek corporation tries to control the masses, but the clans rebel and fight back as they can. Without order, there's anarchy. But without war, there is no hope.

Along with the sci-fi setting comes four very unique races. There's the Solitus, who are humanity's closest descendants. They're very versatile and ready to tackle any challenge. The Opifex were breed for speed and stealth, and use their agility to overcome their fragile natures. Originally created to research nanotech, the Nanomages are the single most intellegent breed, but they'll need to use their wits to overcome all their other weaknesses. Last, the Atrox were bred for the mines. Their hulking masses carry a massive strength, and can tackle any challenge with their foreheads.

Anarchy Online features a huge range of classes to pick from. There's the standard assault rifle-wielding Soldier and the close-combat expert Enforcer, but there are many odd-balls too. The Meta-Physicist uses his knowledge of biology to create minions out of nanobots, and the Bureaucrat prefers to have robots do his work while he buffs his team, meanwhile the Fixer can travel into The Grid and hack computers. With 14 different professions to pick from, you're sure to find one that fits like a glove.

In the future, people will pay for bounties on pretty much anything. Terminals in every city offer jobs to capable heroes of all kinds. Because these missions are randomly generated, you'll always have something to do. Those looking for more challenge can fight over Rubi-Ka itself in the massive PvP war. Anarchy Online might be and older title, but there's a lot of deep content in here that's free to play.

This game's strength has been in it's F2P nature and gripping (if hard to find) storyline.

Weaknesses: Confusing interface, directx *8*. despite years of saying that it's getting an upgrade.

Fun for a while, then a Diabloesque feeling of "when can I equip my next gun/armor/accessory?"
