Firefly Online is a strategic online role playing game (RPG) based on Firefly, Joss Whedon's cult-hit television series. [/i]Firefly Online[/i] (FFO) is currently in development for Windows-based PCs, Mac OS X, iOS and Android, and may expand to include additional platforms.
In Firefly Online, players assume the role of a ship captain as they hire a crew and seek out adventures, all the while trading with and competing against the millions of other players to try to survive in the Verse: find a crew, find a job, keep flying.
FFO provides a variety of gameplay activities and systems so that players can fully experience life in the Verse.

Firefly found great success with its hit television show and Serenity film sequel, but why can't it have a shiny videogame? Firefly Online hopes to fill that gap, putting players in the role of ship captains in the Verse. Due in Summer 2014 for PC, Mac, and mobile devices, Firefly Online is set in Joss Whedon's sci-fi Verse, where a totalitarian Alliance controls the Core Worlds, bloodthirsty Reavers patrol the Outskirts, and ordinary folk make a living somewhere inbetween.
It's in this world that captains must travel, attempting to follow Firefly's three rules of survival: "Fina a crew. Find a job. Keep flying." Players will need to hire crew members across the Verse to maintain their custom ship and protect it from various dangers. Players will then seek out various paying jobs, some legitimate, some less so. With those needs met, players can then take part in various multiplayer social features, while cross-play shares the game experience across all available platforms.
