Editor's Choice: EVE Revelations I (CCP Games)
This was by far the hardest award to decide. EVE won by a whisker over EverQuest II's Echoes of Faydwer. The knock against this one is that it is only part one of three, but really, the innovations and changes it made to the game were sweeping. Things like "Warp To 0" altered the way people play EVE, while contracts added a much needed layer. We finally decided with this question: which expansion would be more likely to make you re-subscribe? The answer: EVE Revelations I.
Honorable Mention: EverQuest II: Echoes of Faydwer (SOE)
Honorable Mention: Guild Wars Factions and Nightfall (ArenaNet/NCSoft)
You guessed it, this one could have, and many say should have, won. Echoes of Faydwer added new races and did everything anyone could hope an expansion could do. This one breathed some fresh air into EverQuest II and was an all-around solid expansion, likely their best. That shouldn't diminish the accomplishments of ArenaNet and their work on two expansions (they call them sequels, but make no mistake, these games are expansions) to the massively popular Guild Wars.
