Darkfall: Three Exclusive Screens of Severii

Today we have three exclusive screenshots of Severii, a stronghold which houses an undead army commanded by the will of Cyriacus. Cyriacus is a godlike and ancient skeletal dragon.

Severii fortresses are found throughout the Alfar nation of Nagast and Cyriacus himself (the Alfar area demigod) is said to occasionally manifest within its borders.

Aventurine SA also passes down word that they are going to release updated images of the Alfar, Orks, Dwarves and Mirdain on the official site's race section later today.

Also, next Friday, Associate Producer Tasos Flambouras will be back with a new written update here on WarCry.

Is this from 1999 using the Quake 2 Engine?

I like the concept of this game but man I'am gonna have to like "force" myself to try it with those graphix if it ever actually comes out.

I got no clue how this is supposed to compete with Conan and Warhammer.

It will compete... every copy comes with a free flux capacitor.

Yaynot, someone, maybe you, said the same thing the last time screens were shown. Maybe it's just not the game for you. If not, don't waste your time lookin'. ;)

Gotta say it seems like they improved their graphic engine even more. Compare these screenies with the 06 and 07 ones. A huge improvement.

Looks like they don't even have MOB's or NPC's implemented in this thing yet. All they keep showing are empty buildings , empty terrains.

Darkfall is the biggest disaster in MMO history. They have yet to show any real gameplay mechanics of the game itself after 7 years.. other than some PC's running around. They keep posting old stuff and passing it off as "new" updates and idiots actually buy it.

Even these "new" screenies of a town / city are staged and the "new" shot of a dwarf is AT LEAST a year old, but they get passed off as brand new. These are not even in game shots. You can tell they were staged shots from inside a tool just like 90% of everything else the give out.

Ever wonder why they never take some actual VIDEO of something like a simple 4v4 PvP battle from start to end????? Showing the UI being used etc....

More vegetation for pvp stealth cover, and nice lighting/shadows, (remember the shadows will be real-time).

Do you realise that the developers owe you nothing until the game is released and you start paying money?

They aren't charging you to look at their progress, these are free pieces of information they have chosen to make public.

Yes, they do benefit from releasing the info as it raises awareness of their product, but no-one is forcing you to read the journals or look at the screenshots ... or didn't you realise that you were allowed to play other games in the meantime? ;-)

yes they have.it's from early Alpha, but it exists...it was not an official release, somehow this footage was leaked and made it to the internet.

Ummm...The developers owe SOMEBODY some money! Some poor fools who invested cold, hard cash into the development of a game that is already "old news" before it EVEN launches! They deserve a return on their investment.

I could care less if this thing makes it to beta. There is a very fine line between launching a game prematurely and launching it before every other game has left you in the dust. They are WAAAAY over the "dust" line.

So.... By this logic, artists that paint scenery with no people in the painting are unable to paint people? Did you even bother to think that maybe these are screenshots meant to display the scenery, not NPC's?

No, you fail again. Vanguard is the biggest disaster in MMO history. They have shown real gameplay mechanics before in videos and they post new stuff constantly. You are consistently wrong on every single moot point you brought up.

No, that definitely is a gameplay video. The video showed players in first and third person swinging swords and casting spells. You're just grasping at straws to avoid conceding the point that they have, indeed, released a gameplay video and you didn't realize it. Either that, or you did realize that they did release it and you're just being intellectually dishonest.

Sorry, your vaporware conspiracy theory just doesn't connect. Team Fortress 2 was in production since 2000 until it's release in 2007. Technically as a mod, TF2 was in development since mid 1998. Funny how a game can take 9 years to be released and still win several awards such as multiplayer game of the year, best artistic design and best multiplayer experience. So your thesis fails.

There is no MMO that comes close to what DarkFall offers, so yeh good job on the dust remark, to bad it doesnt make any sense.

Hmmm ya that is good company policy, they should even make it their slogan... DARKFALL "We don't have to show you sh*t!!!" They could not send out any game play footage and pack the box in simple brown paper with the (GAME) written in sharpee on the front. It would be all mysterious and stuff and people would just have to gamble when they bought it wether it was something worth playing or not. Damn I can't wait for this game it is soooo good they don't have to prove anything to anyone... I say give it another 7 years, let that anticipation build a little, it is way too soon to release it. I mean the world is just not ready for this whole can of awesome to be unleashed upon us.
