How I Mine 4 Fish? Do you still have the original source code, and is it a free domain or paid? Ive been bored at work as of late, and would be interested in getting something together.

I used to like the old english dubs, simply because the voices. When I generally like the story of an anime/manga I'll take to reading/watching it in the subbed form. But the show has like 400 freaking episodes doesn't it? I just gave up and stopped watching it altogether. Besides, they don't even have the same voice actors for the new dubbed episodes they're showing. I flicked it on the other night for a few minutes and was like "WTF is going on? Why does everyone sound so weird" Then I went to eat some face in TF2 Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!

Three sword style ftw. Oh, and no, I don't have the code for the site. I was paying for the domain at the time and I ended up losing it the last time my PC decided it needed to be reformatted. Sorry. If you decide to have a little fun and make another site let me know, I'll help out where I can.

confusing though right? i believe Inari suggested it, and i backed it up.
|
Moderator Posts: 5733 Joined: 30 Jun 2004 | it is a bit confusing when they end an episode in the middle of some progression, and then the next episode starts off at different place and you have no idea whats going on and what has happened. but they do a very good job on clearing everything up in the end though, something that so many animes fail horribly at.

i tried, but after watching an 8 year old kid fishing up a "monster" fish i decided i'd keep to something more traditional. i guess you would like that kind of stuff, seeing as to how you seemed to like that Beck anime, no offense.

No, actually I forced myself to watch almost the entire first 20 episodes of Hunter X Hunter before it got good. Then they started killing people and stuff. You just have to stick with it. I like Beck cuz I like guitars/rock. Of all people i can't believe YOU don't like beck.

Moderator Posts: 5733 Joined: 30 Jun 2004 | like i said, i've only watched the first ep of Beck. what is the point to it if they are just going along with some kid's pubescent life? i would much sooner watch santa barbara.

WarCry Choice Posts: 5507 Joined: 29 Jun 2004 | Yikes... If I just based what I thought of an anime off of one or two episodes I wouldn't like the majority of anime that I have watched. One Piece for instance, I didn't fine much remarkable about the first episode or the majority of the first season of it; but it is quite an impressive series and story as a whole. The first 4 or 5 episodes of Beck are kinda boring, but it gets better. I like how they incorporated a lot of musical influences from Cobain to the Rolling Stones, they even touch on the Beatles. I don't play guitar hero either btw, and probably will not. I will watch a documentary about someone's life if I find it interesting. Patience and coping with the void of instant gratification in some things can be tough.

Epic’d Out Posts: 5548 Joined: 28 May 2004 | if you like Comedy, Drama, Romance type animes, I highly suggest Clannad and Kanon. Clannad has so many bits of random humor it makes you want to watch it over and over again. Kanon is very good as well with the humor, but its a bit more serious.

Great story & animation, funny/well developed characters. We need more shows like it =p Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!

Epic’d Out Posts: 5548 Joined: 28 May 2004 | for a show made by Americans, actually researching martial arts to put with the animations, its well done. The story could use improvements, but i havent actually seen past chapter 1.

WarCry Choice Posts: 5507 Joined: 29 Jun 2004 | Yeah, for a series that's on Nickelodeon I'll have to admit it is impressive; though still not quite near the quality of japanese animation.
|
Master Looter Posts: 1054 Joined: 5 Jul 2007 | If you haven't watched past season one you really need to check out the other episodes. It's got a great story, deep character -> man vs self / man vs man and all other forms of conflict. Different twists and exciting arcs/battles. Even Sokka, a character with no bending powers and is basically just comic relief goes through a period where he trains himself so he becomes more than just a stupid gimick for the show. (He makes me lol also). Lots of romance and romantic twists and such. I think the animation is done really well personally. You make it sound like every japanese anime is of better quality than it, just graphically speaking. I like its style a lot more than many animes I've seen. I'd watch a kagillion avatars before I'd sit through an entire episode of something like the prince of Tennis or some crapspasm like that. Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!

WarCry Choice Posts: 5507 Joined: 29 Jun 2004 | No, I didn't say it was bad; I think what I've seen of it is quite good actually. I personally prefer the animation/artwork/style of artists like those that produce anime similar to Noien, Gatz, Berserk, Claymore, early Naruto episodes, and several more that I can't even think of righ t off hand. They offer a lot of variety and detail and don't have to dumb down and rush through their plots/storylines for an American audience. Trust me, there is probably more bad anime than there is bad american animation; just based on the sheer abundance of animation that japan turns out. If you grew up in the 80's as a kid you'd notice the disturbing trend of eliminating cartoons from television almost competely. I remember getting up at 5a.m. on a saturday morning and watching cartoons until 4 or 5 o'clock in the evening. Good luck finding saturday morning cartoons now though... Japan? Any given time of day (even primetime) you can find quality animation on TV. And no, Southpark and Family Guy (as wonderful and entertaining as they are!) do not really fall into the category of "quality" animation. So yeah... I think I'm gonna try to dig up some He-Man, Transformers, Go-Bots, Wildcatz, and G.I. Joe now from the interweb. :-D

When I was little blue = good and red = bad; in GI joe I always thought it was so backwards! Never could tell what was going on. Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!

|
WarCry Choice Posts: 5507 Joined: 29 Jun 2004 | Not sure about active torrents, but you can DL via FTP at National Anime for pretty cheap. Narutofan just did something screwy and turned all their sites into some new crappy network/ring of sites and it messed up my billing, otherwise I would give you my username/PW and let you download them all direct there.

An interesting anime movie is Tekkonkinkreet. It's weird but I liked it. It won several awards across the globe in different festivals as well.
