I lost my WoW account this morning! Hooray. The password has been changed, along with the account email, meaning i can't access anything OR reset my password.

Fortunately I have the original CD key, all the details of any credit cards used to pay for the account, the answer to my secret question, all that kind of info, so let's see how long blizzard take to get my account back and what kind of damage has been done afterwards. I'm betting i'll have a bunch of stripped characters and have to wait ages for them to restore the items.

It might take less time to redo the whole thing, Cheese :P

I'm aware the armory takes a little while to update, but it's been a good 12 hours since i noticed the loss of account and it's still showing my gear. We'll see when it updates if that's still the case.

Seems I just had a run of the mill worm that was sending my keystrokes to somebody. PC has been a bit odd the past couple of weeks and last night everything was screwing up massively; internet was popping on and off, system was locking up and when i logged into my WoW account for the last time it went berserk and connected, showed me a realm list but hung up whenever i tried to get onto a realm.

Woke up this morning and account was locked down, after some careful investigation, 2 emails were sent from my machine via POP3 last night while I was sleeping. I know this as my antivirus scanned them as they went out and logged the times and destination IP (which is in China, surprise surprise).

And no chi, as far as i'm aware it didn't make any posts on the forums. Though i wouldn't know really, they'd have been cleaned up by the time i saw them and i can't get onto the forum account to see if it's banned or whatnot.

Can't remember the name of the worm i had, but it made a file called svcshost.exe (notice the similarity with the irritating svchost.exe, hence why i didn't notice it till it was too late). System is now totally clean anyway and i stuck on a firewall, did a full virus and spyware scan and got rid of svcshost.exe, so everything should be all good once the account is set back to me.

Considering you have all that information, Blizzard should be able to return any items/gold you lost if they did take anything. Hell, they've restored characters I've deleted by accident on a few occassions.

I'm looking on the bright side of things: at least my newbie paladin will have 3 levels of rest EXP by the time i get my acct back :P

Armory still hasn't updated my characters, so I still have no idea about their gear status.

actually, its 2 full levels at most.

They changed it in 2.0, it's only a lvl and a half at the most, unless they changed it back

pah, i meant to type 2 there, I stopped playing WoW about 3 weeks after it launched and only got back into it a couple of months back, so i had no idea they'd changed it.

i just logged onto an rogue i stopepd playing 1.5 months ago and i got 2 levels of rest. maybe they changed it maybe they didnt, no clue =P

How do you know you have 2 levels of it? surely the most you can see is 1 rested bar :P

1,5 levels is max rested in wow Afaik.

Nope, still heard nothing at all from blizzard, not even a "we're looking into it" email. Apparantly it takes around a month though, so i'm not surprised i've heard nothing.

And i did the same Nice, my whole grind from 60-70 was entirely on 2x exp.

Lovely wasnt it? I even aoe grinded my way from 61.5 to 63 on mobs alone so I'd be lvl 63 when I left Hellfire Peninsula and I still had enough banked xp to get to 70 ^^.

harhar, on the plus side i finally got around to reactivating my L2 account now that i cannot play WoW. Now which server to roll on....

TYPICAL! the second i activate L2, Blizzard reset my account password and give me it back :P

Now i have 2 MMOs to keep me occupied.

i actually rolled a warlock for the first time, 1-25 is a pain. Smooth sailing from now on, damn succy is good DPS but weak as hell. cant wait for fel hunter to lock mob mana. after i get locky to 65-70, im rolling me a warrior and lvling it to 60 incase blizz decides to make the Death Knight a class you gotta change a char to. if its just an unlock for a completely new char, that would be the pwn.

Blizzard has stated that the Deathknight Hero will be unlockable by any class and will open up a new character slot specifically for the Deathknight. The character you unlock the Deathknight class with will not be changed in anyway/shape/or form.

I rolled a Warlock also...she's level 9...having a tough time now all of sudden...dot, dot, curse, fear, dot, dot, curse, fear - how it can be so hard?

the way i do it is immolate, corruption (now an instant cast thanks to talent tree), then curse of agony, with my void on it. then i do the DoTs and wand the second to death. also, if your referring to the forum statement by a blue, what they said isnt "official" yet, and Blizz could change it on the fly.

Same here Naota...no talents or void walker yet though.

Warrior sucks at lvling unless you do pure instances 10-60, or keep him really twinked in blues at every time possible. Trust me, took me FOREVER to get to 70

i enjoyed my warrior a lot, just not the game, the second time i tried to play it.

but yeah i was keeping him twinked by playing the market smart, so maybe that was why.
