For example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145527 Super RAM, 2 gigs, Super Cheap. I don't know if you go crazy and overclock it and need to by like the $100 512 sticks of ram or something, but this shouldn't be that hard of an investment to get both =p Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!

Posts: 480 Joined: 1 Oct 2007 | Holy crap, I didn't realize RAM was so cheap. I'm using a Dell XPS laptop, and I currently have 2 512MB cards (I think, I'm afc right now). I would like to upgrade to 3-4GB. Any suggestions? Which brands are most reliable? Good values? etc.? Also, why are some of the memory less expensive but a full GB more than others, i.e. this one and this one?

I didn't believe it at first, but my main PC has 2gb of OCZ gaming RAM, it runs a good 20% faster than the cheap-ass RAM sticks I was using previously. Posts: 1053 Joined: 5 Jul 2007 | Go with that cheap kind, Newegg has this thing where you put in your type of computer and motherboard type and such and shows you all the options that will work on it. 2-4gigs of ram should be plenty of speed without buying insanely priced gaming ram. I very very very very highly recommend OCZ or Corsair RAM. Particularly anything from OCZ runs insanely fast. Some heat problems though. Corsair runs very fast and you can get super cheap sticks. The reason I have to choose is because I have gift certificates for all but around $150, so it's one or the other atm.

Posts: 480 Joined: 1 Oct 2007 | When I tallied up everything I have to pay for (controllers, games, etc.), it made much more sense economically to go for the RAM. Not to mention the fact that really good Wii games are few and far between, and really good PC games that require more than 1GB of RAM are currently abundant. When the price of Wii declines, I'll think about it again. But I'm a PC gamer at heart, so I feel no remorse.

A Wii or a RAM upgrade? I only have 1gb of RAM, which I know isn't enough right now, but the Wii is the greatest console ever made imo.
I have enough in gift certificates to get one or the other (and the price of Wii includes an extra $200 in games/controllers).
I can't decide!
