Newsletter Discussion: Should NCsoft Offer A Single Pass?

Each week in our WarCry Newsletter we like to start off a discussion on some issues close to the hearts of WarCry fans. This week's discussion asks:

Should NCsoft offer a package similar to the SOE Station Pass? Would you purchase it in order to play City of Heroes/Villains, Tabula Rasa, Lineage I/II and Dungeon Runners?

I think that this is a very good idea, it would simplify everything.

That's a recurring suggestion from the community, and it's more valid now with NC Soft consolidating it's titles under its wings.

Offering a single pass for all NC Soft's games will not necessarily deter players from playing their favorite game, nor will it stretch bandwidth resources, but will simply present a better "package" that could sell more. It's a known fact that shoppers like to have more bang from their buck, but we all know also that most shoppers don't use all the features that come with a product. Same applies to MMOs.

The benefits of single pass are many:
-Increase overall game populations, and allude a bigger community.
-Increase player interaction within multiple games/servers.
-Give exposure to lesser game titles within the package.
-Allow for a wider variety of titles, especially when burned on primary game.
-Keep player population, and their dollars, under the same publisher.
-It just looks better, especially to casual gamers!

I just wish NC Soft would've bought Auto Assault, and enrolled it next to their micro-games, like Exteel and Dungeon Runners, then do a single pass. That would be just awesomesuace!

It would be a fantastic idea. NC have so many good MMOs available, it's hard to pick and choose which ones I can maintain every month (as I have an account on pretty much every game in their snazzy playNC launcher).

We must petition them to do this. It will do nothing but strengthen their position in the MMO publishing market.

Ive been on CoH since Issue 4 and CoV since launch and if they did the 1 pass Id do it to try tabula rasa

Id definitely do it, I mean they should still be getting money from the cd-keys. Plus the single pass' price would be higher. I would definitely use it even if I only played a few of the games they have.
