RoleCraft: What Level Is Your RP?

Jim Moreno's column returns today with "What Level Is Your RP?", his latest in a reoccuring column that looks at the plight of sometimes lost section of the MMORPG community: role-players.

Roleplaying guilds, kinships, and clans very often label themselves as being either light, medium, or heavy RP, but what exactly does that mean? What are the differences between these three level of RP? Well, I am here to make an attempt at answering, or at least providing some helpful insight into, that very question.

Read it after the jump.

RP is for freaks. Can you actually stand someone coming up to you in a game and saying "where art thou heading good sir"

What the hell???

They can be an odd bunch. I've had a few bad experiences in-game and in forums. Some people have some ridiculous ideas about what should go into an MMO. Other times, I've been impressed by their work. Sometimes I play along in-game, but not much. It depends on the type of MMO. If it's the medieval/fantasy stuff, I don't really care to make the adjustment in speech.

i think games like WOW making servers for them is great, cuz not everyone wants to play "Ren Fest online", but obviously some people insist on it, and that fine, i belive thats how the rpg seen started. I tried to chill with some RP people before, but i dident read the manual i guess, and i was quickly banished, apprently you arent suppose to talk about "going afk", or " BRB gtg buy some beer IRL".
