I never thought an examination of the sociopolitical constructs within EVE Online would make me think about playing it again.

Well played, sir.

I'm glad it had such an impact. The state of nature approach is just one of many that can be applied to EVE's political structure; I imagine that just like the real world, fascinating new conclusions could be reach from examining it from all sorts of paradigmic perspectives, like radicalism and constructivism. It's all thanks to EVE's political realism, which trumps even its economic authenticity.
