Grab your armor and get ready to fight for the future of mankind.FALLEN EARTH, LLC today announced that the post-apocalyptic massively multiplayer online game (MMO) Fallen Earth will be available via digital distribution and through retailers nationwide beginning Wednesday, September 9.

Fallen Earth combines the accuracy of first-person shooter games with the character advancement and strategic gameplay of a role-playing game. Taking place in the Grand Canyon as mankind teeters on the edge of extinction, players are thrust into the remains of the old world and must choose to rise above the hardships or embrace the surrounding destruction.

Fallen Earth allows players to align with one of six factions to claim control of territories and towns, asserting their distinct philosophies in the rebuilding of civilization. Players utilize a real-time crafting system to make 95 percent of game items-including the best gear, weapons and vehicles-and explore more than 1,000 square kilometers of territory and 70 towns. Additionally, Fallen Earth offers classless advancement that uses a skill-based system to build characters with a variety of stats, skills, factions, and mutation paths.

"We've been working to create a different type of MMO-something gritty and challenging that will give players an exciting and immersive gaming experience," says Jessica Orr, product manager for Fallen Earth. "The Fallen Earth team is looking forward getting the game in the hands of our current and future fans."

Beginning today, FallenEarth.com will feature a countdown to the release as well as up-to-the-minute assets and news. Fans can also stay up to date with Fallen Earth on the Facebook and Twitter (@FallenEarth) pages.

I've been in the beta for some time now and I can atest to the fact that this game ISN'T ready for launch on Sep 9th. It is so full of bugs rangin from crappy graphics to horrible and unintelligent AI mobs that players will find themselves frustrated from the moment they log in. The tutorial they have is designed to make the transition into the game easy but it alone is rife with bugs and issues alone that scream incompetency. I really hate the fact that the graphics are something we saw 5+ years ago; I have a GeForce 260 and a decent PC with all of the graphic settings cranked to the max and the game doesn;t tax my system in the least...and the graphics look horribly dated.

Don't buy this game nor waste your time with it cause like Age of Conan, the company simply wants to get it out the door to get money. They saw they'll continue to further development but currently, they push a slight new build once or twice a month so don't expect anything better once the game is released!

Le gasp, Kalia! You snagged this from under Sigoya's nose. Bad girl!

Yes sir she did!

That Kalia is one speedy cougar, and we love her for that :D

Completely agree, as a FPS, its terrible.
Advertising that they have " the accuracy of first-person shooter games" is totally false and misleading.
There is little accuracy to their FPS experience, if you're a first person fan, then you'll be sadly disappointed.

I doubt it was the devs choice to launch now, probably the fault of short-sighted investors, but IMO it'll be AoC 2 without the big company backing to keep it running through its rough start.
Its a shame because a 'fall out' MMO if done properly would be a whole lot of fun.
