Neverland Online: English Open Beta Launched

Fans of browser-based MMOs will have a new game to tackle, titled Neverland Online (no affiliations with MJ's fabled estate) and arriving from OPI Game Center. The English open beta started last week with an opportunity to win $100 worth of goodies. Details in the press release:

Neverland Online, the hugely popular fantasy browser-based MMORPG developed by China's Oak Pacific Interactive (OPI), is now accessible to players in North America and Europe through a new English-language version that entered open beta testing on October 15. Players can register for a permanent account at http://in.neverland.hithere.com/in1.html and, for a limited time, log in and receive a free virtual lucky bag containing US$100 worth of goodies.

Defeat the Demon Army with the aid of nearly 200 million pieces of equipment and a vast array of pets as you navigate through a mythical ancient Chinese world and search for the secret to immortality in Neverland Online....

Just months after its launch in June 2008, the Chinese-language version of Neverland Online won the ChinaJoy Golden Plume Award for "Best Webgame" in 2008. Neverland Online remains popular in 2009 and was recently named a "10-year Best Webgame" by Sina.com.
