WarCry has learned that Star Trek Online and its content have been transferred to another studio and that P2 Entertainment (formerly Perpetual Entertainment) will refocus its business on casual games and their Perpetual Platform MMO solution.

As a company, P2 Entertainment will continue on with their profitable Perpetual Platform, which has been licensed to industry leaders like BioWare, and refocus their core business on the casual games market.

I'm not surprised in the slightest.

Perhaps Gods and Heroes will miraculously reappear? ;-)

Uh... so the project isn't canceled, the new guys are just starting over from scratch (or perhaps with art/models of some sort, that's the only content I can think of that wouldn't include the source code)? I suppose that probably means not having to negotiate a new license agreement, but functionally it sounds like the old STO is canceled and we're going to do this entire dance over again.

This is not logical!

If they keep canning their projects, it won't be long before they run out of marketable products.

Salvage sale coming soon?
