Last year, World of Warcraft was named Game of the Year as it rang up a few victories. Did anyone usurp the champion this year? Let's find out.

I second every choice made. World of Warcraft, whether you swear by it or at it, was clearly the game of the year, getting fatter by the second and breaking records each year.

I'll drink [poison] to that...

I like most of them. I don't think WoW was game of the year. The expansion was ok at best and then they had to do an XP shift to make it easier for players to level just to help make a reason for people to buy the expansion.

I think LOTRO would have been a better choice for MMO of the Year. They had a solid launch, 2 major content updates including housing (which is missing from WOW), and better story line.

I would have to agree with that.

I was pleasantly surprised to see EQ in there. It's nice to see they can still attract some attention. I have to agree on LotRO, even though I couldn't really get into it. They had a pretty good launch and all. At least someone got honorable mention for the big one.

Meh WoW in 2007 was still 10 times as big as any other competitor , in 2008 with the lack of the 2nd expansion that'll surely change (or even with the 2nd expansion, if its just adding content and no new classes unlike the first)

Gooid choices imo, altough im more excited to see the ones from next year
