Cryptic Studios has launched a new website and forums dedicated to their upcoming title Champions Online. Champions Online, a superhero MMO using the characters and setting from Champions the RPG, A game that has been around since 1981, giving players the ability to create their own superhero. Cryptic will now carry on that same tradition by allowing players to create their own superhero in Champions Online! Hero Games, the creator of Champions the RPG, will be releasing a new edition (the 6th for those who are counting)of their game to coincide with Champions Online.
Hi-Octane Excitement: Champions Online delivers furious, fast-paced encounters previously reserved for action and fighting games. No more boring auto attacks and lengthy recharge times. Champions Online combat is instantaneous - and electrifying!
Your powers, on your terms: There are a multitude of astonishing powers to choose from in Champions Online, and its flexible character creation system gives you total control over your hero's abilities. You can even pick the appearance of your powers. Do you want purple force fields? Green fire blasts? Jet black claws? In Champions Online, you decide!
Cryptic who developed City of Heroes, and City of Villians, is now looking to improve upon the genre by creating a new superhero game from the ground up. I for one can't wait to fly high over head and kill people with lasers shooting from my eyes! Oh, and yes, the picture in this post is actually a screen shot from the game, no concept art here!
You can check out all the super hero glory over at the Champions Online website.

Maybe these tights are tagless ;) |

DM: From the deepest crypts crawls the undead thread, it's death rattle shakes you to your core. What foul necromantic forces brought forth this foul beast. Cleric: I attempt to turn undead. DM: You can't this is a WoW forum D&D magic does not work here. Cleric: Well guys we are @#$%*%! Wizard: Agreed, I believe this Necrothread was created by a dread ForumLych, impossible to stop, without a sense of humor. Fighter: Very well I throw a badge or some other posting reward down at the necrothread and prepare a tactical retreat. DM: The necrothread pauses at your offer, snaps up the reward and slinks off deeper into the internet. Rogue: Phwew! That was close... I wonder if there are even more ancient Necrothreads ahead of us? Fighter: We will only know when we continue on our journey through the crypts of Warcry. |
