Fallen Earth: New Info & Screenshots

Fallen Earth team released this week a fresh batch of screenshots showcasing the updated graphic engine, with three views of the Odenville town and revealing the deformed "Changed" mob, in addition to the weekly project update and fan questions:

This week we've got some screen shots from Steve Coyle and a few questions. We're continuing work on the new tutorial level. We're also working on starter towns Zanesville (Enforcer headquarters in sector 1) and Needle Eye (first place you get to see the new sporekill creature). We're revising items (with all sorts of new research and development angles, new science items, lots of neat stuff), and balancing creature abilities (no more embarrassing moments of being taken down by angry packs of field mice).

1. Are 64 Slots really enough space to be a crafter + own 2 sets of Armor + 3 Range weapon + 1 Melee weapon + Poison + Acids + all the other stuffy like different kinds of ammo? I heard a lot of good about the crafting system, but with a lot of raw materials there is also need for a lot of storage. If I spent the time to become a crafter in for example armor crafting, rifles and another 3+ subjects do I need to make an alt and call him Bankvault 2? Then in later levels when I now more Crafting stuffy a 3 alt called Bankvault 3?

Well, there are several other options in the works.

First off are clan banks. Clans can have varying degrees of storage that can be accessed by members of the clan of sufficient rank (as set by the clan leader). They're all accessed at vaults like normal banks.

Second, players can store gear in their vehicles or on their horses. Different vehicles and mounts will have different amount of storage, some of which you'll probably want to fill with food and vet packs for horses or fuel and repair kits for vehicles, but it will still give you a decent amount of carrying space.

Third, vaults are set up by sector. In each sector each player has a different vault they can access. While this means players may have to make some trips running gear between sectors, it gives them an increasingly large amount of storage as they progress through the game (they just may have to work a bit to access it all).

2. How will stuff stack? I fear to find stuff 20 minutes away from town, having to walk back not because i cannot carry 50 cotton pieces in 1 stack but got 50 slots filled with 1 cotton piece each

Most consumable items and components stack in piles of 20. Bullets stack in piles of 500. Larger items like weapons, armor, etc., do not stack.

3. Is the digger gun still going to be in the game?

Alas, no. It's still in there, but it's not going to be an actual item in the game when release rolls around. It's more a test case for the technology.

4. What's your biggest fear about the game development or just about the game in general?

The same fear that every creative person has: that you put your heart and soul into something and no one shows up to appreciate it.

That, and that the new tutorial level will be so awesome that players won't ever leave.

Oh? I think they look pretty damned good. Why don't you point us all in the direction of what you consider "good" or even "great" graphics?

Add me as your friend so we can earn a BADGE!
