WoW: The Instance Podcast Covers WotLK Leaks

Episode 107 of The Instance is out and the guys cover this past week's rash of leaks about Wrath of the Lich King:

A flood of leaked information about the Wrath Of The Lich King expansion, taken directly from the alpha testing client for the forthcoming 2nd expansion to World of Warcraft, exploded across the Internet this week. Everything from notes about classes and talents to previously unreleased Death Knight info to imagery from the game to the actual music that alpha testers are experiencing is available for perusal on site after site after mirror site.

In a thread on the World Of Warcraft forums, Blizzard Community Manager Nathaera wrote: "Re- Posting Unreleased Content / Hacking Data Files. This category includes language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:

• Show unreleased in-game items, equipment, or areas that have been unlocked by hacking into client data files
• Show the results of hacking or any tampering of the game's MPQ files
• Discuss, or display any data not available through normal game play

If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be permanently banned from the World of Warcraft forums"

Apparently some folks don't understand NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENTS. DOH!

I find it fairly amusing they nt "permananet ban from the WOW forums" not the game lol.. i.e you can be as big aan a** as you like but they still want your money. WoW's biggest failing gor me is the total lack of quality control with regard to who they allow to play the game.

Maybe they should sponsor some online GM's who can deal with inappropriate or offensive channel chatter and deal with the gold seller adverts directly.. and maybe encourage some actual roleplaying on its RP specified servers as other MMO's do. Then there are the massive numbers of naming convention breaches that on RP servers specifically (I could care less what people call themselves on other servers) that should be dealt with. WoW is an excellant game ruined by the appalling quality of a certain percentage of its subscribers.

Anyway I digress.. heres to hoping Lich King wgives somethign for the PVE'ers as well as the low and mid level folks too not just the PVP'ers and 60+ crowd (yeah I know not going to happen..but hey a guy can dream ).
