As we previously announced today, Open Beta begins September 7th; but that's not stopping EA Mythic from letting you grab the client well ahead of time.
Details on the Open Beta program are now available along with information on how to download the client. Current CLOSED BETA testers are NOT required to download the new client. The download is being offered by FilePlanet.

You're stupid. No, I'm kidding. Those who preordered the game and received their Preorder Open Beta codes (Standard and Collectors Edition) will be guaranteed spots in the Open Beta beginning Sept 7th, 2008. Spots available to those who are not part of the preorder program will be given out through EA Mythic's various partners in ways that are as of yet undetermined. Some possibilities include contests, first come first serve, etc. But no, it will not be completely open as in everyone come in. They have budgeted an exact amount of people they will have in the Open Beta program.
