Star Trek Online Welcomes New Community Rep

Star Trek Online gained a new community representative last week, Nicole "Awen" Hamlett, who hails from NetDevil's own sci-fi space MMO Jumpgate Evolution.

Awen introduced herself on the official forums and had the following to say:

Hi there! If you haven't read my announcement already, please allow me to re-introduce myself to you. My name is Nicole Hamlett and you may either call me Nicole or Awen, whichever you prefer.

I am the new Lead Community Representative for Star Trek Online. Before you ask, no I have not replaced Razor. I'm simply leading the Star Trek Online community team. You may have already met me as the Community Manager for Jumpgate Evolution. I was the OCR for that title before making the move to Cryptic Studios. If so, it's a pleasure to see you again. If not, I really look forward to working with you all to make sure that not only does everyone know about this incredible game, but that we make this community a place where all Sci-Fi and Star Trek fans are welcome.

I'll be doing a Meet the Team bio within the next few weeks and you will get a more in-depth look into who I am and what my goals are. In the meantime, here is the brief scoop.

When I moved here, I was hoping that I'd be working with this community in particular.. I've been a Star Trek fan since watching my first episode of Star Trek: The Animated Series. From there it was a logical leap to Star Trek: TNG. I was simply hooked. I've always been fascinated with outer space and the Star Trek ideals shaped not only imagination, but my way of thinking. I often use the phrase - "In a Star Trek world..." I cannot begin to describe how excited I am to be able to live out my dreams in a virtual Star Trek universe; it leaves me breathless with anticipation.

I'm certain that I will learn much from this community and it is my hope that I can help you navigate both Star Trek Online, and other fascinating Star Trek trivia while I'm here with you.

It may be cheesy, but it is my greatest hope that we all can bring this franchise to the next generation of gamers and fans world-wide.
