I'm not sure if i'm just being picky about this, but it seems to have to "floaty" combat system that bugged me so much about city of heroes and PotBS. If you've played either you may know what I mean. In those games it didn't feel like I was solidly controlling the combat, it just felt like I was queueing up a bunch of moves that executed whenever they felt like it.

Say what you want about WoW, the combat just feels more solid, it feels a lot more like you're in control. You hit an ability, your character begins to use it immediately. I know that the second I hit a hotkey, that attack will go off.

I know it's at an early stage and it could be refined, but I thought that about PotBS and it never got fixed for live. So far only 2 MMOs have had combat I enjoyed, where I felt fully in control of what was going on - WoW and Lineage 2.

Good point, and the developers did state that they are "reworking" combat specifically. Let's hope they pull it off, for their own sake.

Animation is still stiff, but the game is markedly improved from what we saw last year. Looks like it has a lot of potential, IMO.

Not bad for SOE, I must admit, but yeah, animation refinement will come with time. It all looks very good for an alpha product at the moment.
