Why is the NDA still in effect for what's essentially an "open" beta? A stress test is merely to see if the servers hold up with lots of players on. Someone explain please.
Damage control! | |
LOL....it was kind of a rhetorical question but I'm glad you answered it since that's exactly what I was thinking? :)
The memories from Tabula Rasa's open beta are still fresh in my mind.
Skip the open here seems more of Denial of Gaming :D
So without breaking that valuable NDA, did anyone from this site get invited in yet?
teedle ^^ | |
ROFLMAO! I'm sure... Maybe THAT'S why he's been so quiet lately. He's not banned anymore. ;)
Simply as stated this is a stress test (close Beta), not an open beta. Never Tasos announce an open beta, he said thousand will be invited to do stress test. This is still a close beta with a NDA and it going to be a progressive invite.
Stress tests are mechanical, ostensibly not gameplay. Why NOT let people talk about what they're seeing/playing? They need some positive exposure...if indeed it's there. ;)
I got an e-mail. It asked me if I wanted a date with a big black booty. I put it in the spam folder.
i'm not overly happy with this latest installment of screw the long term fans. Awhile ago they stated 'no one will have to pay for the game without trialing it' and 'we will be starting open beta' then dont forget ' release date 22 jan'. I'm not the type to start issues. But OPEN beta means everyone gets in that wants too. Since the release date got move to end of feb and they are selectively inviting clans then the average person that wants to get a look will not get to. This is unfair and a bad joke. Is there any idea how many keys they are giving out ?
It's been a long series of screw ups. I just hope they get their act together by the end of the year. Heck, even WoW had a rough start.
Some new words by Tasos on the NDA "The NDA is still in effect, because this remains a testing period. Even though this is the release candidate client, previews based on this experience may not be indicative of the release quality of the game, especially not while you're consciously trying to break the game during stress testing" Still doesnt make sense to me if its a release candidate as they call it. As if player behaviour would be so significantly different (Quoted from the jan 25th post btw)
EVERY beta isn't indicative of what the finished product will be. LOL!
Kalia, has anyone ever told you that you LOL! a lot? I mean seriously, you're always so darned... peppy... all the time. Seriously. Here's the serious face: -_- ...it's watching you... the serious face... seriously serious...
peppy... :O catfight! | |
Lies. The WAR closed beta made me hate the game. I was instantly told to STFU by people who'd never played it and promptly ditched it after their free month expired because of the exact reasons i'd told them about.
Darkfall: First Wave of Invites Sent
The long wait is almost over as Aventurine ushers in the first wave of clan and individual testers after applying the latest patch to the Darkfall servers.
Darkfall's website and forums were down the majority of the day due to a series of denial of service (DDoS) attacks:
Darkfall's site and forum are up now and the client should be available for download for all invited testers soon. If you're one of the lucky ones to get in early, share your first impressions with us! (When the NDA is lifted, that is.)
