Just amazing.

The guys behind this project are guaranteed a spot as cinematic directors.

Indeed. Hopefully they don't wait too long to release part two.

I'm not the biggest HL2 fan, but I have to admit that was well done. I wonder if it is some kind of promotional gig for an upcoming game?

nice

but...

MOAR HEADCRAB PLZ!

As far as I know, it was just an independent project from some extremely talented Half-Life fans.

For something that was done for $500, it was pretty amazing to see. I think that if you can do something that good for that little of a budget, what's a multi-million dollar Hollywood's movie flops excuse?

Apart from the zombies this stuff looks really good. Can't wait to see part two.

The zombies did look pretty bad....hehe

Wow this was great and the only bad points I can pick out are how bad the zombies look and how sort-of "stilted" their acting was when they had to talk.

I couldn't make better headcrab zombies with $5000, so kudos to them.

I always thought that half life would be an easy movie to make. You wouldn't need huge amounts of CGI the enemies are human(oid), the environments are not hard to recreate.... Why does crap like Hitman and lara croft get made when HL has a good story/setting and is just waiting for a movie adaptation.

They only had a $500 budget while making that. I cant wait for the next episode.

If I had to toss out a guess, I'd say Valve is reluctant to give the rights to a studio to make a Half-Life movie for the reasons you mentioned. Can't forget about DOOM either lol.

I know that. I was saying I couldn't do a better job with 10x of the funds they had so I can't complain.

That was really impressive. With a budget of only 500 bucks... they were able to get props, costumes, cgi animation... really impressive.

Yeah, the more I think about that budget I'm gonna have to cry bullshit on that. Unless they had a lot of really generous people giving up props, clothing, materials, software, etc...

Unless they didn't count the camcorder, the softwares, the computer, and post production materials, I think it is possible to make a movie like that with $500. You just gotta get creative.

Now if you want profit margin, you gotta go with porn baby!
Thats my next project! Who's in?

Definitely an awesome video. I do wish the camera was less shaky though.

Considering this isn't the first film they've made, I would assume the $500 didn't include any filming equipment or video editing software, as they would have already had that which makes the $500 for the costumes and props rather believable imo.

Gives it more of a 'war documentary' kind of feel.

It does indeed, but for some reason when I was watching it it was rather choppy. Must have been my internet connection at the time.

Most likely, because it's super-smooth on my end.

It was choppy for me too when watching it in HD. In SD it was fine.

Five Hundred! Man, with CG like that, it must have been a long time hobby, a labour of love. Green screen is not easy to do well, and if it's done cheaply, hard to make convincing. Five to several Thumbs up.

So is there any time frame for when the next part is going to come out? And how many parts they are planning to make? I want more zombie action and to maybe see a hunter.
