I wanted to go by and say Hello but it would have been about $400.00 for the flight, rental and hotel. Where are you now? How many years do you have left in the Military? Congrats on serving. It says a lot about a person to get up and do 'something' with their life. You did it and the experiences you have will help you for the rest of your life. Killed 10 Boars Posts: 18 Joined: 2 Jul 2004 | Hawaii, wow, I almost forgot about that ... wow, I really haven't been here in a while! So as it happens, I never found my way to the Hawaii battalion as planned because at the last minute as we were heading out there they redirected me and others to report to an east coast battalion. Long story, but it generally goes along the lines of someone way up high doing a forces reorganization in the moments before the Iraq war kicked off. So, for the last couple years I was a rifle team leader in the 1st Battalion, 6th Marines. Overall I participated in lots of training operations and 2 combat deployments, first to Afghanistan, the second to Iraq. FWIW, if I had found my way to Hawaii I had planned on looking you up when I had time off. That or I would have picked you up and found somewhere for you to stay if you had paid me a visit. Ah well! Thanks for remembering :) So are you still in Hawaii, or did you find your way back to Cali? I was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, although we weren't really there very often. Now that I'm done with active duty, I'm back in Raleigh, NC, and I have about 3 years left on the inactive duty portion of my contract. That means I don't do anything military related, but if they needed I could be called back up until the total (8 year) contract expires. Still doing graphic design and the like? Job well done :D You know, General Community always [strike]discussed[/strike] argued politics and current events, although it was mixed with a much healthier dose of nonsensical posts and randomness sometimes related to AC but not very often. I see what you mean though, there is an incredible lack of actual AC talk anywhere there days :) But, that is how it goes. Oh, and I am excited for you to be writing for BioWare, it is definitely a company that can value your style! I have always been a fan of their games. I always loved the lore in AC and was so proud of everyone that visited this site and contributed to spreading the stories and events in game. On top of that, I loved reading the user stories and attempts to explain events that were never fully explained by the devs. So much creativity and excitement. How is everyone? Just a quick hello to everyone I once knew! In alphabetical order: Hello! Ana, Chain, Dawn Under, Ether Dragon, Maddy, Rho, Roberto, Stormwaltz, Thanatos Savehn ... and did I miss anyone else?
Who in the world am I? Well, for those of you have been around from the beginning of the original CoD, I am the one formerly known as Legolas, yea, one of the old Site Managers. For those of you who haven't, nice to meet you!
I have been way out of the loop the past 5 years since I joined the Marine Corps infantry. I just got out near the end of last year and I'm getting myself readjusted to normal life again. For the curious, it was my choice to go in due to events in the world and I don't regret it; in fact I think more people should do it, really gives you a whole different perspective on things.
That aside, I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised to see that AC is still going and that WCoD is still reporting! I loved that game and this place.
Not much else to say at the moment, but I'll be around occasionally, you guys be good :)
