Forget that, have you seen what the collector's edition offers? A lunch box, an art book and a bobblehead. That has got to be the wackiest CE I've ever seen.

Do we get to see the birthing process? If so, in-game realism might be a bit too....deep.

yes

All new games suck because your life isn't as fun as when you were 12 and you've became less amused by the things that got you giddy back then.

Lol, thats the problem. For example, TONS of todays players were "kids" when WoW came out, so they think Blizzard invented the genre. I was past 30 when WoW came out dude, WoW hasn't done a damn thing(that wasn't done by numerous games before)except make it available to the masses. And therein lies their success.

At the ripe age of 12 I cut my gaming teeth on an Atari 2600, playing Combat till the wee hours of the morning. If I think a game sucks when compared to THAT...it DOES!

I can say clearly now that Fallout 3 is everthing needed in life!

I played all night yesterday and i'm still at the first town.
and you start out as a baby, quite funny if you see it :)

So how is the game performance? It's running on a reworked Oblivion engine so I assume lots of bugs and we won't be able to run it smoothly until we get some hardware that is a year newer than the game itself?

Actualy i have the 360 version and have not seen any bugs as of yet. I played nearly 20 hours already and i'm only level 8. (lv 20 cap)
also no framerate drops. I can tell they really learned a lot from Oblivions faults.

ask me anything about the game.

I feel this is more indicative to the marketing endeavors that companies put behind hyping up their games. Gaming has become a massive industry and a large part of being successful is getting your name out there. So there is a constant drive to push your product as much as possible.

You could also make the argument that we have become spoiled on the cream of the crop. Even with a great deal of sub-par product being produced, there is still a lot of great games coming out. We have grown accustomed to certain levels of quality and to see backwards slips in that becomes disappointing.

You're playing Fallout on a console? For shame, sir.

I'd wager it'd have something to do with lack of nostalgia! But Morrowind is epic win regardless.

That, and player fatigue. It seems like we've seen every game genre and style replicated and cloned in several generations lately. Fresh concepts are extremely scarce and viewed as risky by game producers and publishers.

Speaking of nostalgia, retro-gaming is in full swing these days, with MegaMan 9 and Bionic Commando making headlines using resurrected ye'olde 16-bit graphics, simple game mechanics and midi tunes.

I would kill a Rad Scorpion for an isometric Fallout right now!

Only if you want to deal with their "player" and not actually have the game.
Good Old Games will be offering Fallout 1 and other classics DRM-free for around $10 a pop.

But if you are a "true" gamer you have actually kept and know where your copy of Fallout is :P

as far as gaming ideas running out, i agree with Sigoya but in another way, aside from revamping classics. What im talking about is very simple ideas. Case and point, GEOMATRY WARS!! very simple system, and 1 of the most addictive and fun games ive ever played...and its $5. I probably played that and Hexic more then my huge stack of Major releases.

You are pretty much right, simple games are usually much more addictive, and we all have our own stories about that (Scrabble & Tetris took a year of my life). It has to do with the soothing repetitiveness and mindless button bashing that's oddly hard to replicate in more complex and story-driven games.

And yes, I own both original copies of Fallout 1/2 and keep them on the nostalgia shelf :)

Seeing Fallout on a console makes me want to puke.

Playing my trusty copy of Fallout 2 as I write this, me and Sulik just smoked some fools.

normally a game like this i would play on the pc,(did so with Oblivion) but somehow this game really isn't so bad on a console. The only thing i'm dissapointed about is that i can't get any mods for it...

That game has WAY too many noobs!

I'll go outside in 6 months. Right now it's raining like a double ****** cow on a flat rock and won't stop till May. Although, I will make my rounds to Crystal and Whistler/Blackcomb.

Other than that, it's an indoor party for the next half a year.
