Does anyone agree with me?

I believe WoW was a lot better Pre-BC. Why? well, if you notice that now that BC came out a lot of people have the same armor and to me that's just not to fun. I mean, Outlands are great and flying mounts as well, plus Belfs and Dranei are cool additions to WoW, but the new Tier sets look so bland and repetative, to see the same armor everywhere gets pretty annoying.

Knowing this I wonder how Wrath of the Lich King is going to be like. Another 10 levels, a new area, more raids/instances, plus the Death Knights ( D: ), and many more new features. Also, to you people who have done the new Raids like Black temple and Hyjal, you have some pretty sick gear thats hard to get and not everyone has, expecially from Black Temple. Well, with the level cap at 80, BT will be alot easier and now people who gawked at your awesome gear will now have it, again, a repetative armor.

Don't get me wrong, i'm excited for the new expansion just like all WoW fanatics. But no matter what new adding Blizzard puts into WoW, I still miss Pre-BC, those were the good days.

I agree with you in a sense that they should have had some type of merchant for paint pots or somthing like that make it what you want most mmo's have that. Other then that the game must go on eventually you would have been asking for more content and armor. They can't make everything unique. Maybe more colors. They sure do love that purple.

I only read the first sentence in this post.. "I believe WoW was a lot better Pre-BC"
I don't have to read any further;
Yes, I agree.

I challenge you. Either with my blood elf warlock or Dranei Shaman.

Well, some things I agree with and somethings I don't, the armor I can agree with, but think of how much new looks they did put in, then think of how much longer it would have taken blizzard to come up with new patches and expansions if they made almost everything new looking, that would take AGES!! While I agree with you there, changing colors and the like is more time saving, and can some times be just what the item needs.

They're currently hiring 3d character/weapons artists which may explain the lack of variety in their weapons/armor.

"Wrath of the Lich King..."

Hmm, I've heard that before...

Hmm... I feel that pre-BC WoW felt more lore oriented, as opposed to just rep/gear grinding. Or maybe running countless Outland based instances has just made BC go bland on my gamer palate.

What? I think the endgame in BC is way better than original WoW. Back in original WoW, you could either raid, aim for High Warlord in PvP (meaning "you" were in fact eight different people) or sit and play with the gravel at the side of the road.

Now I can at least run heroics, PvP without being eight people, raid in raids that don't suck donkeyballs (.......Molten Core..........) and... uh, yeah. That's about it.

Of course, everyone having the exact same armor has never been cool. But I think it was also worse in pre-BC when every single Hunter and his mother was wearing Giantstalker or Pinkstalker (...Dragonstalker, maybe it was?).
(Also, make new names for Hunter sets not being named "Something Stalker", pretty please ^_^)

I think the Burning Crusade is alot more friendly towards people who dont have time to raid every night and the pvp is improved.

Err... BC had some great features like Arena and Flying mounts, Superb zone design (Nagrand) and Awesome looking armor (Season 4 armor). It gave people new stuff to try rather than be stuck playing in AQ40. Even if BC DIDN'T come out, people would still just ignore the raids except a select few due to just knowing that it has **** for armor. You say that the tier system looks the same but think of this, Blizzard has a select few people working 20/7 on new content for players like dungeons armor and such. They don't have all the time in the world to be changing EVERYTHING so its different. Also they have a very strict timeline. So take that into perspective and then you appreciate armor. Yes some armor looks repeated but other times they pull out some majorly cool stuff.

VANILLA ALL THE WAY -
25 man raids are lame - 40 mans actually felt epic - yes it took longer to get gear but u have to put in your own work for loot -
AQ was amazing - while it killed most servers it was well worth it to see only a select few get the high purples - now you see everyone with the gear u worked so hard to get a month or two after - the instances are pretty much a joke with 30% buff plus blizzard feels the need to gimp all classes / giving 2 classes the same abilities only makes the game even lamer ie - shamans BL given to mages -
What blizzard is doing is destroying the very thing that made playing a shaman worthwhile - we are needed in a raid for a specific reason.
It would be the same if you gave everyone the same set of skills - no unique reason to play the game when i can do the same thing as another-
Finally, as i remember it - guilds used to have sections of their web site dedicated to "strats" now adays the whole end game encounter is done within a few hours of it going live - nothing is hard anymore in this game when the whole fight is in detail.
In summation, this game has gone from epic to random grays - it used to have a grind and worthwhile gear and has been replaced with achievements / loot ship.
ps yes I QQ but I have my creditability / history with the game in alpha.

The game was a lot harder in the vanilla days, and although Karazhan is the best dungeon ever, WoW has gone downhill since it started. I stopped playing after beating Ulduar so it must have started pretty high to go down hill for that long. Yes vanilla WoW was better, I agree.

Casual player = Blizzard gold mine.

Yeah, vanilla WoW were the days...

I challenge further, with my interesting boss battle mechanics, vastly improved class balance and removal of necessary grind.

I personally played all 3 expansions.

I disliked Vanilla due to imbalanced classes and factions. Not to mention racials and all those slackers you had to carry in a 40man raid just because the population was few and scarce.

And jeez the amount of bad players was over-the-top. At least now there's vids, in-depths sites and a much higher population to chose who you raid with.

TBC made a step in balancing factions, WoTLK took a step to balance out classes. I honestly don't feel forced to say be a tank with my warrior like Vanilla whenever I wanted to party somewhere. Also the quality in raiding has improved by far. Firefighter, Yogg without keepers, ToGC, and quite a few from ICC are some of the best PvE encounters up to date.

More so I just have a blast playing in Arenas and flying around Northrend. Did I mention all those profession perks? Oh and the quests !

For myself when WoW first launched I found it a boring game, lackluster and badly organized (keep in mind Battle Grounds weren't up when they first launched and many many other features). It wasn't until the end of TBC that caught my eye with Sunwell, lovely Arena and BattleGrounds and need I remind people of Kael's fight in TK:E? Heck lots had transpired and everything was starting to look pretty good. Wrath sprinkled a few extra things here and there and mixed up the formula giving a much more smooth gaming experience (reducing walk time towards instances, better leveling for alts, better quests with phasing tech, achievment rewards). There are quite a few things I dislike tho and I felt that TBC was a better expansion in some ways but it's basically one and the same game that they've expanded and improved. I can't possibly see myself now go back to those strict days of boring farming, lackluster PvP and awful class design of Vanilla.

If you're focusing on armor specifically, WoTLK is what killed it....in BC at least there was still some colour in the armor sets but in WoTLK oh wow is everything colour bland, bleak, and just horrid.

I know that the gear won't exactly improve in Cataclysm either :S
