I don't understand why people keep using "open" to describe beta events that are anything but open. Aion pulled the same crap. Curse.com was also giving away beta keys to premium members. | |

Note that currently, the only people that can get keys are those with pre-order boxes and those that pay Fileplanet money. IMO, they need to open it to everyone freely without requiring monetary commitment. If I don't get into the STO open beta, there's no way I'm going to pay to play the game (and I'm a huge Star Trek nerd).
