Hey, all, just wondering if there was any word on a release date, confirmed, estimated, or rumoured, when Guild Wars II will launch, or even start Beta, for that matter?

Dont know if this is news for you, but the game is been put off until 2010 - 2011 because of the financial crisis (I recon it's because of that.)

I hate to necro a thread like this, but it's still near the top of the page, and I've something to contribute =P

The source for the 2010-2011 statement is from an investor finance briefing document that NCSoft gave to its (guess who) investors. The dates when GW2 would probably be released were buried inside that document. Unfortunately, I can't find a link to the doc itself....Just sites talking about it.

EDIT: And it is a definite '2' rather than 'II,' which is a nice departure from the pretension that's automatically part of so many number two games.

That's unfortunate - i was really looking forward to GW2 coming out a lot sooner than that. The original is kind of dying out in population in comparison to what it used to be

So close...yet so far. I wish it was sooner. And yes The original is losing populace but when GW:2 comes out, imagine what that will do to the original.

Yes, I imagine the release of 2 will result in an influx of new players coming to 1 to see what its like.

I gotta say i'm excited for it i wanna start grinding all the new stuff, I've almost maxed out 30 titles and i'm running out of things to do.
