Does anyone know how the game caters to casual gamers? I played the game from the beginning, and I really enjoyed it. I am a casual gamer, however, so I didn't play a lot. I soon lost track of my friends who had reached level 80 while I was still running around with level 25.

I stopped at level 40 (I wanted to try that mammoth,) and haven't played since.

When you're a casual gamer it is hard to make friends, join a guild, and most of all - keep up. I have a life and obligations outside the computer that prevents me from committing to raids tuesday night at 7pm, and such things.

Still - I enjoy these online games, and Age of Conan especially. I was able to run around on my own, and still develop my character. I chose a roleplaying server, and tried to act out my character the best I saw fit.

But soon the patches made it impossible to play in this manner. Among other things, certain baddies now leveled in difficulty parallell to myself. Had I spent three days on gaining five more levels just to be able to complete a certain missions, it wouldn't matter - now they were still just as hard to take down.

Now .. I realize a lot of this was done to fairly balance the system, and that is why I - respectfully - deactivated my account. Now I see people are talking about this game again, and how much has changed and how it is now a much better game. Yet, I don't see any mention of the casual gamer.

Again - I am fully aware that this is a multiplayer game, but I am inable to commit to such a degree that seemed necessary last I played. - Are any of you able to comment on how the game might have changed to suit the casual gamer?

..or is this not for me?

I guess you did not enjoy Age Of Conan.. But base on your story you are just a casual gamer and you are forcing to play this game because your friends are playing too.. If you play any MMO game it like you are getting commitment to your character or like a son or siblings.. Just play it and enjoy it. and get more games ^^ That's a heart of a gamer...
