I'm on the verge of visiting my first Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in LA. When I say "on the verge," I actually mean the sort of "on the verge" that still doesn't have her clothes packed and still doesn't have a nailed down itinerary. The kind of "on the verge" that implies a frantic gathering of last minute needed supplies before dashing off to the airport to leave. Hopefully I'll get my things sorted out before Sunday when I leave.

Post-it notes cover my desk like brightly colored Easter eggs in a basket, each one's frantic colors yelling "Look at me! I'm more important!" The phone is ringing. Emails are popping into the inbox. And I just hit "send" on the assets that we'll be running all week on various sites--Gamespy, FilePlanet, GameSpot and IGN. And I'm desperately in need of some caffeine.

Despite all of the hubbub and last minute things that we need to do, I'm really excited. We're going to be in a meeting room at the show, hosting a variety of media and business appointments that promise introductions to neat people, fun times and really tired feet. I've heard that this show is totally different from the others and my curiosity is definitely piqued.

I'll be reporting back over the next few days to give you an insider's glimpse into the show--a first glimpse, as mine will be--complete with pictures and descriptions of all the fun parties and interesting characters we meet.
