Hotfix Issue

Frelorn, of Turbine's AC Community Relations, let us know about an issue discovered with today's hotfix:

(Lestat of Leafcull) hunt out on Viss and never have an issue....
but today after the patch (10/30/07) i went out hunting...
i killed several gorgers then a gold shredder.....when i click on it to open it for loot....my hr glass locks up and the body doesnt open...it also did it with several gorgers that i tried to loot...

i logged out and back in....even restarted the computer and the game...only to have it do the same thing !!

(Frelorn) We have confirmed this is happening in some cases. As far as we can tell, this was not something we were able to make happen on our internal server. It appears to be something that only occurs on the live worlds. From talking to Sev, it seems to have something to do with the amount of memory used on live as compared to the test world. We have in the past spoken about the difficulties we have duplicating the exact conditions of the live worlds, and unfortunately this appears to be one of those rare cases where the difference between the two worlds was enough to cause different results.

Players can resolve this by "breaking" the interaction on the corpse in question. The simplest way to do this is to get far enough away from the corpse that is trying to be looted, so that the interaction is broken. After that, players should be able to go back and loot the corpse.

We are going to gather some more information about this and decide what our next move will be. Once we know more, I will let everyone know.

Please note that if you are using any third party applications to loot for you, it may increase the frequency of this occurring.

At least there's a solution for this one, if a bit annoying!
