To me the PvPvE sounds like a combination of L2's sieging and DAoC's RvR, with the Balaur as the third party instead of a third faction. Hopefully I get high enough to see it for myself.

No particular server, I've whored myself out to them all I think. I'll make a Elysian on Kaisinel for grins and post the name here later. Due to time constraints I am still not 100% if I'm going to play at all when it goes live. --EDIT-- And I will probably be a hammer wielding hairy midget!

Very enjoyable game, though I dunno if I can seriously afford the time sink to play. Not that I am saying the game requires a lot of time, but the fact that it sucks you in so easy...

I got my hands on a beta key via fileplanet and I must say I am heartily impressed thus far. Compared to the last NC Soft Open Beta I participated in with Lineage II, Aion is leaps and bounds ahead of the curve. So far it looks as though NC Soft has done their homework and paid attention to the utter failure of AoC with early release, and the overall disappointment and deflation of WAR. Initial lag and frequent server disconnects were a bit annoying at first(and expected of an open beta environment), but the gameplay and absolutely ridiculous amount of customization you can put into a character at creation is awesome!
Without revealing specific details, I can honestly say this is an MMO worth investing some time in. Hell, I just might play the live client myself!
