I mean so many people always talk bad about him. Sure his powers are sort of dumb but at least he has powers, unlike Batman. Is it because he is outside most people's jurisdiction, what if you are a surfer or a scuba diver?

The problem with Aquaman is that he's a fairly minor character. Since he's so minor, DC doesn't really bother to put good writers on the series, so people don't read it, so he become even more neglected. He actually has a good deal of potential, but he's ignored too often.

Sorry, your badge farming response is wrong.
Aqauman is a MAJOR character. Thus why they're putting a lot of emphasis in him in this game. He's an orignal of the Juistice League. He's had his own comic, and a lot of them. He's not just some random background hero they threw in out of no where, he's a MAIN DC hero. He's used often and crossed over in a lot of comics. Calling him a nobody would be like calling the Green Arrow a no body, or Gambit.
Also, necroing is not nice.

The hate on Aquaman is that no one understands him, and he's become an iconic joke. I personally make fun of him all the time. He is super strong, an amazing fighter, breathes underwater, commands sea creatures, and does other things. Point is, he's become a joke because everything thinks he's useless above water, when he's proven to be useful on land.

That's largely the point I was trying to make. Aquaman is a great character that DC SHOULD use more. Originally, he was indeed a major character, I don't dispute that. However, he's been marginalized lately. Including him as a major character in this game is a step in the right direction. The more that people learn about him, the more fans he'll get. True, he's one of the few characters that non-comics readers know about, but they don't really know anything beyond the name.

Aquaman is one of my favorite characters. I just think he's not very popular overall.

He's still a major character, but he's not as major as Superman or Batman. Hell, no one is. They kinda gave everything away to Superman and Batman. So, when you see another DC hero you don't think much of them because Superman and Batman are their power whores. I think they need to renerf Batman and Superman and let their other heros shine. That's why I like Marvel more. Everyone knows X-Men and Spider-Man but they're not their strongest or best. Each hero (and anti-hero) from each book is greatly needed and just as usefull as everyone else, except Jubillie.

I agree with this. When it comes to either "super" powers (I use "super" with Aquaman because it gets a laugh) or batman style technology, I'll take the latter

Who hates Aquaman? He is one of my favorite character in DC.. I think his power will become low if he is not in the ocean.. He is one of the legendary hero in DC ^^

I hated him until I saw a pic on TvTropes. It was reminding everyone that there is a famous mind-raping creature of the deep that he can control.

Aquaman really just never struck me as an awesome character. I mean, he can swim fast, communicate the sea creatures, and breathe underwater. Those powers really aren't that great compared to say... Superman. People see awesome superheroes like Superman and Batman and think: Woah, it would be awesome to be able to fly, see through stuff, shoot lazers, be invincible, and have super strenth. I mean what couldn't I do with that!? In Batman's case: wouldn't it be awesome to be rich and have all those gadgets. I would have all the criminals hanging upsidedown from street lights. Seriously that would be epic! In Aquaman's case: Gee, I guess I could be the captain of my swim team and... Umm... Maybe I could talk to my goldfish and teach it tricks. Really it just seems like Aquaman isn't that great.
