o why o why. demon hunter was my favorite job in warcraft 3

and i was hoping to see one or become one in WoW.

i like the game so far and thats the only downer for me ^^

Actually Demon Hunters are in the game. They're a hero class, which you can get at lvl 60, though as far as I know, hero classes won't be implemented for a while.

A long time ago (11 months or so) Blizzard stated that Night Elf Hunters could become Demon Hunters as a Hero class. Recently we've been told Hero classes would be level 60, not level 40, and require an epic quest to attain any Hero class. We also know they won't be out at release, though how much longer after that is anybodys guess.

The whole night elf to demon hunter thing was from a gaming magazine back in December. I long ago lost all track of it, but some of the other people here could back me up on that.

Some quotes I dug up via thottbot's search of Blizzard forums (these are all from Blizzard dev posts)

- Hero classes will be attainable only after max. level is achieved, and attaining Hero-class status will be extremely challenging, so the plan is to implement them sometime after launch. That's all the information that's available at this time.

- Hero classes are still to be implemented. We have not decided yet if they will make release or not. There are still several technical issues to be resolved regarding to how we wish to implement them. "IF" they do not make the release of the game, they will be patched in as soon as possible afterwards.

I don't remember where I saw that the attaining Hero-class status would be a quest. Its possible I assumed that, but either way it is the most likely explanation.
