I just make some thing has a romantic flare, and that rolls off the tounge.

Having name name the people can pronounce and spell easily is important. Oh and I never name anything with an X.

The sillest name I have is BreeHog, for my female blood elf mage. Yes that right I made a character inspired by Desperate House Wives.

FEAR ME.

Im dyslexic and english isnt my first language, I applogise for any grammatical errors.

Normally my names are just a way to hide my identity so I use something anonymous like noturaveragejoe. However I do occasionally choose names with some meaning like my nickname or an Egyptian/Greek god that I am a fan of (the most common is Horus).

I really can't stand it when people make character names that are sentences. I mean, those aren't really names!

Usually I play around with sounds until I get something that I like. Examples include Minarri, Mitrie and Lynerra.

On my Euro account, my main (Warlock-RPPvP) was Phoenixis. or to give him his full name, Silas Phoenixis.

On my US account (kept on switching to play with friends) my main (Druid-PvP) was called Yarrpirates.

I had a rogue on my US account called Avastninjas, aswell.

Asciotes, I think it sounds wise plus no one has used it ever before it seems. No particular meaning.

My old level 13 rogue's name is Girtair.

Gir, Altair, yeah.

I'm not cool like you people.

I don't play anymore, but Nelbeb. I took random consonants and vowels and put them together in a legible way. I literally had a small seizure on my keyboard and played word jumble. That's how I got Cidin, and Arbitrary Cidin because the name Cidin is arbitrary, but I digress.

Sounds like some kind of micro-organism that causes a disease to me.

If you don't know what my name is from, I would kindly ask that you get off my internets. Or read The Wheel of Time, the series which it is from.

I'm an kind of an islomaniac or i at least think about islands a lot so that's why i choose this name. i also think names are very interesting. some folklore suggests that names bestow power, and if you tell your name to someone you give them some power over you. maybe its good to always have a secret name that you tell to no one.

Cilliandrew: When i first started playing WoW, my son had just been born. I named my Rogue a combo of my son's name (Cillian) and my own.

Dil: Created a female blood elf Priest, but wanted to give some indication that i was actually a guy, so i named her after the infamous character from "The Crying Game". I just recently payed the cash to have her sex change to male. I was sick of alliance players following me around like lovesick puppies.

Yzerman: Ice Mage, named after my favourite hockey player.

Nowadays, most of my names come from movies or tv...Have:

A DK named Garibaldi (Babylon 5)

A BE paladin named RutgerHauer

I also have a couple of other names reserved should for toons should i ever decide to
level them. My favourite (which sadly i will probably NEVER play) is my hunter
named ELMERFUDD.

I have a deck of WoW trading cards I once bought in the hopes of getting one of those in-game items cards. When I make a character I browse the deck untill I find a char I like, search it on thottbot to see if it doesnt already exist as an npc, then use it. Sometimes I make small spelling changes though.

All my characters:

Marukh(Human Warlock)- An Elder Scrolls reference. He was a cultist leader who tore a god in half for religious purity.

Heimdallr (Undead Warrior)- Norse Mythology reference. He stood guard at Bifrost, the rainbow bridge that connects Midgard and Asgard, with his horn, Gjallarhorn ready to alert the rest of the Gods if enemies approached.

Pickman (Undead Priest)- H.P. Lovecraft reference. Read "Pickman's Model". It's totally awesome!

Yig (Undead Rogue)- H.P. Lovecraft/Samuel Loveman/Clark Ashton Smith reference. The God of Serpents.

Þá kvað þat Heimdallr, hvítastr ása,vissi hann vel fram sem vanir aðrir: "Bindum vér Þór þá brúðar líni, hafi hann it mikla men Brísinga."

In short, it involves Norse cross-dressing.

I'a Cthulhu! I'a Yog-Sothoth! I'a Nyarlathotep! Glory to the Old Ones!

My name is a carry over from when I played RuneScape, and I've been too lazy to come up with something else. Well, that and I kinda like the name

Eirishkegal, undead shadow priest - alternate spelling of Ereshkegal, Sumerian goddess of the Underworld
Erzabet, Belf Warlock, and Nahila, Tauren Druid - characters in an RP I run elsewhere in the forums
Sozia, Tauren Warrior - another RP character, different RP
Granboa, troll hunter - from Gran Boa, a voodoo loa of forests and wild places
Wyeest, orc shaman - from the Native American name of a nearby mountain
Snowmizer, frost mage - part of a pair, the other half being my friend's fire mage, Heatmizer.
Keeziee, troll rogue - made it up
Barbarrella, Belf paladin - because her poofy hair made her look like Jane Fonda in the movie.

Yeah, I have a lot of alts. Don't judge me.

When my friends and I first made our characters we just came up with the silliest names we possibly could...so I have a badass shaman...named "Ontheroxorz."

I usually start all my characters when I've had far to much to drink so my character lists look like

80 Death Knight- Ihatepants

80 Mage- Endtable

80 Hunter- Lamppost

80 Priest- was Daehtihs look at backwards

80 Lock- Hotchick, later renamed to Imadude after being hit on by far to many sweaty fat guys and/or 12 year olds.
