alright we have been trying for 3 days now to get my friend onto L2 but no matter what we can't seem to get the client to work.

it gets up to the little box that appears on the desk top "Lineage 2 Gracia" and the char in the armor. but it won't actually load the game.

her computer fits all the requirements and she just installed direct x 9, we made sure the firewall is allowing it and turned off the anti virius (it's not AVG) and made sure everything was running so we really don't know what's going on. and i can't see it since she is in another state.

does anyone know what is going on and how we can fit it?

Did you download the game or installed it from the disc?

Try re-installing the game or running a full check (I can't remember if L2 runs a client prior to loading the game itself or not). Often, these two things will fix 99% of problems. If she is running Vista, make sure she has GameGuard and L2 set to be allowed to run themselves. Even in XP, double check the GameGuard folder....in fact, delete the GameGuard folder. It will redownload itself.

I haven't played L2 in ages....but I remember how much I despised GameGuard....it caused me a lot of headaches.

Moon's right. If she's on vista, you'll have lots of problems running L2. (Not to mention many other programs/games).

I know when I played for a bit on Vista, I had to run the patcher as admin to get it to actually patch completely, otherwise I'm pretty sure it would do exactly what you're describing.

Yeah it's vista I'll have her delate the game guard folder cause she was having trouble with it

We've done full reinstall and all the fun shit. Where is the patch? She downloaded it off the website [the client]

Wherever you run the game from. Instead of double-clicking or whatever, right-click and hit "Run as administrator". It's what fixed it for me.
