i liked it when i others dropped stuff, but a few times i dropped something that utterly crippled my ability to play, which ether resulted in a reroll or quiting till i got help from a friend. Once i dropped my only dagger, only to watch a bot auto loot it almost instantly.

I dropped my STR longbow back in C1 after I went on a PK spree and some fug stun locked me. I deleveled twice and ended up buying a poniard dagger from the adena I had and then grinded my way back to a maingauche. Then I lived happily ever after... and pked some more.

Back then most people weren't so spoiled as they are now, using only top grade equipment. Back then mid grade gear was fine, and even coveted. Bow of Forest? /worship. Gastra? /die of jealousy. People were more hardened to the grind and so a little setback such as that did not hurt too much, and it made people careful... oh how very careful. Now of course if you were to drop your +4 dama*tallum you'd probably quit the entire game.

Ah yes the joy of seeing a weapon drop when training bots was a thing to savour. Free gear!

when i was a young prophet (17?) in c1, i watched red coming at me from a distance on talking island, back then max rendering distance wasent the norm, so i guess he dident expect me to anticipate his attack, ether way i seen him coming with enough time to charge bss, combo spells and kill him, he then dropped about 75% of his gear and "wtf" then logged out, good times.

I think that is what I miss the most. I actually stopped leveling my TH because that's what I usually used him for, it made me feel like a real rogue.

Sure wish they bring it back. Using a life stone should secure your weapon.

the truely hard core feel of the game is gone, face it, they are steadily trying to dress the game up in a carebear outfit. The glory days were beta threw c3,but now what use to inspire me in the game is gone, probably why i havent even re activated to try gracia.

You tried grinding at close to lvl 80? Whats the norm xp per mob through your middle ages? .25? .10? At lvl 80 you'd be getting that much from your entire grind session :P.
But yeah I know what you are saying, the game is being dressed up to compete on the market.
But I wonder, since nothing we get didn't go through Korea first... why this kind of change over there? Why would they need this o.O

Isn't WoW preparing to launch over there?

If so they need to make it look like they had all these ideas first :P

AFAIK WOW has been here for quite sometime but I hear you about having the ideas first. I-phones R still not here but all the major Korean phone companies are releasing look-a-likes first.

I think these R changes are implemented to attract casual gamers like myself. I don't pay monthly subcription fees I go to PC-gamerooms and pay an hourly rate. Here they even made it easier when you play in a PC-bang(room) you collect PC-bang points that can be used for buff or collectable items.

Ps the next update will bring Horses. I'll post a screen shot if someone tells me how. I'm a such a noob

I welcome the new vitality system really. For the one or two hours a day I can spare to grind, it's nice to make more headway into a level than I used to. The common items were a great idea, i'm seeing loads of people using them, they really make it more viable for newbies to make some cash. Why save up for weeks to afford that top D grade weapon when a perfectly usable mid D one with drop pretty commonly while hunting normal mobs.

I feel that's one thing L2 was sadly lacking, the joy of grinding and suddenly getting a piece of gear better than what you have now. I love that about wow, you'll just get a random drop and replace a piece of gear there and then. Up till now, drops in L2 haven't really suited their areas. You were getting C grade dropping in level 55-60 areas, NG dropping in level 30 areas, you never really got a drop that was better than your current gear.

I disagree cheese. See, when the game started you'd probably get the top no grade at 20-24, at which time such items do drop. Then you'd get top D by the time you are 36-40, and again mobs at 40+ drop top D. And so forth and so on. It is this western way of addiction to top grade gear that has created the impression that you *must* have top gear to progress in the game. I've seen people refuse to level into next grade until they had the top gear for it.

Dunno where you're hunting them. My paladin didn't see a C grade drop till level 60.

I say they bring back dropping an item apon death! Its how I fought back the bots, I got so much money training the bots and getting a new spot to level. But knowing you could lose one of your items makes you always think twice about what your about 2 do. It was almost like adding a type of self justice to the game. Being a TH made it that much better! Running around catacombs and training bots so I could pay for my soul shots haha good times.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Seriously, you don't drop gear anymore on death? Just came back to the game two days ago and didn't find that out until now. And I just looked and saw this post is originally almost 3 months old. Wow, I fail.

...what has happened to my beloved L2?

U still drop stuff if you have killed over 5 white players. However, there is a quest to reduce that number. I think, never been a perma red but looking at your tag maybe you are. Also augmenting items protects them from being dropped.

as much as i disliked dropping items,i stoped playing soon after it was nerfed. The entire fun of the game was how hardcore it was. Cp points and less chance to drop items added to the demise of what was truely hardcore. Now the only hardcore part is hitting lvl cap, but id imagine rested xp also deminishes that.

More so if you look he posted in every board there was in the last posted thread. I mean look at all the boards and look at when he posted, it was a giant spam fest, to get a badge more then likely.

I report badge farmers so that way they can't get their precious Matrix badges, among others. Abide by our rules, and do not spam up areas just because you think they're dead. I read dead areas frequently to report badge farming, as it's strongly frowned upon, and necroing is against the rules.

Is there a spamming badge? ;>

I indeed miss the death penalty, it made me feel as if I had something to lose if I dead, thus I felt more of an urge to well...live, now it's just like "woops died" instead of "Noooooooooooooooooooo".
