Newsletter Discussion: Crossing Borders

Almost by its inherent definition, the Massive genre requires players to interact with others who in reality might be scattered across a country--or even the world. Whether competing for kills with a paid gamer from China, talking on a voice chat with an Australian guild-mate, or even just grouping with a Canadian gamer, MMOGs cross international borders more than any other game genre.

This week, we want to know:

How have you interacted with people from around the world inside a game?

This very moment I'm sitting in Greer, Arizona with my husband, daughter and married friends from England. We met them playing Diablo 2 the year it came out and we were guild mates. They were visiting Tucson, Arizona one year and we drove down and met them. This is now our seventh year vacationing together. :)

We've also had Diablo 2 guild mates from Texas, Indiana, Virginia and Germany come visit or that we've visited.
