Newsletter Discussion: Living Up to the Hype

Hype and gaming are very familiar bedfellows - which means that when a game is released, many people may expect something more than what they actually get. Age of Conan fell flat in the face of expectations, and many gamers were outraged to find out that WAR was, in fact, not a flawless game. This week, we'd like to know:

Can any MMORPG - or game - ever live up to all the hype?

I think so,, in my opinion.. As we can see in the case of Atlantica Online which also has a very good hype rating while at the same time delivers what I expected from it.. For one,, is its new turn-based battle system which is unlike your typical MMO that is hack-and-slash which I personally find dull and repetitive.. Another is the in-game option for guild masters to govern towns and eventually create a country..

I think the reason why Atlantica lives up to its hype rating is because of numerous innovations that it introduces to MMO genre,, as not to become your another typical MMO..
