Matrix Online: Update 52 live!
Update 52 was just released on May 31th, and with it, a whole bunch of goodies players has been looking forward to for months. The developers of The Matrix Online has also been gearing up to this update, teasing us with Image retrievals and notes written about them in the previous "Through the Looking Glass". TLG is a developer-created letter to the players containing news and updates on where The Matrix Online stands and where it is going developing-wise.
This patch does not only bring the Cinematic and new critical missions everyone has been waiting for, but the corrupted quests and perhaps the most anticipated of all; Another try at the Luggables.
Luggables are Player Versus Player "items" that redpills can pick up to make them flagged. So, you're probably wondering why people should pick up an item that flags them? The answer is simple. The item gives a lot of buffs players should find...useful. Luggables has been in development for a long time now, and they've let us try out the luggable system a couple of times now. They have been featured in event-patches, like in the Christmas event for example. The snowmen there was a form of luggables. It seems that they're being thrown out into the game in a lot bigger way now though, considering they have several kinds of luggables instead of just one with the same buffs.
So, without any further ado, here are the patch notes and some explanations on how the luggable system works for update 52. Now jack in, and have some fun!
Chapter 7.3 critical missions begin on Thursday, May 31st, with another new mission arriving on each of the four following Thursdays: June 7th, June 14th, June 21st, and June 28th.
Luggables
While in possession of a Luggable you will not be able to transport between districts or into the loading area. You can teleport to other districts or go to the loading area, but you will automatically drop all luggables if you do.
If a Luggable is dropped into an active mission area the luggable will be destroyed. If it is destroyed you have to hunt around to find it
again.
You may only have one luggable of each type in your inventory at a time. While a luggable is in your possession you will always be flagged for PvP action, so be ready.

Changes and Improvements
* News choppers have taken to the city skies now that the General's helicopters have been removed by the Machines.
* With his plans foiled and his base destroyed, the General's commandos are on the run, and will no longer oppose Zion or the Machines in standard missions.
* Smoke bomb and Vanish now require an invisibility belt to trigger invisibility. The other effects will still work without the belt.
* Machinegun Fist Combo no longer removes more than one buff.
* A new collector near Bathary Row needs help controlling an outbreak of the Fly Virus in the area.
* The Fly Virus now lasts five seconds rather than twenty, and can be spread only to hostiles.
* Luggables can no longer be dropped in the white hallways.
* You are now notified via system chat when you drop a luggable intentionally or by teleporting.
* Area-effect heal and buff abilities now affect only members of the caster's mission team. AOEs that were previously cast around a selected friendly are now cast from the caster, with no target required, and their effect radius increased by 25% of their previous casting range, rounded up. The affected abilities (and altered target/areas) are:
o Group Heal 1.0
o Group Repairs 1.0
o Group Repairs 2.0 (12m range, 5m area becomes 8m area)
o Group Repairs 3.0 (16m range, 5m area becomes 9m area)
o Network Firewall
o Panicked Heal (16m range, 5m area becomes 9m area)
