Microsoft Slashes Xbox 360 Prices
After a record breaking 20 months, the Xbox 360 is now about $50 cheaper. Microsoft announced its first price cut in North American for the elder next generation console. The Xbox 360 Premium now costs $350, the Xbox 360 Core goes down $20 to $280 and the Xbox 360 Elite falls $30 to $450.
Microsoft Corp said Monday it will cut the price of its main Xbox 360 video game console model by about 13 percent in the United States, hoping to boost sales ahead of the crucial holiday season.
Microsoft is aiming at expanding the appeal of the Xbox 360 to an audience outside its core fan base.
The move reduces the price of the Xbox 360 Premium model by $50, to $350, and follows a move last month by rival Sony Corp to cut the price of its PlayStation 3 machine by 17 percent, to $500.
