As if Professor Xavier and his dream aren't getting enough of a beating in New X-Men, over in Weapon X the vision of peaceful cohabitation gets another punchdown as an X-Man joins the mutant-hunting team. Writer Frank Tieri spoke with Newsarama about the upcoming storyline, "Defection."

Yes, Weapon X is about the military program that turns mutants into living bioweapons. After years of being shuttered, the Program has been restarted. "This particular version of the Program was resurrected by the Director - a.k.a. Malcolm Colcord, a soldier left over from the original Program who was horribly disfigured when Wolverine broke free from the WX installation years ago, as seen in Barry Windsor-Smith's classic Weapon X arc for the uninitiated," Tieri said.
