Now, new pilots can get the running start they need.
When asked about CCP's EVE Online, many a potential new player has concerns about starting fresh in such a daunting game, not the least of which is the concern over leveling up skills. With real time used to train skills instead of game time, many would-be players are concerned about always being too far behind the curve of the long-term players to have any chance at success.
If you're in this boat, CCP thinks it might have something to make you reconsider. Launching in North American retailers on October 19 (with European retailers to follow), you will be able to pick up an updated retail package with exceptional support for new pilots in the EVE Online: Commissioned Officer Edition.
In addition to the CD key for a new account and 30 days of paid subscription time you would expect from a new box, the Commissioned Officer Edition also boasts an EVE poster with helpful hints for new pilots and an exclusive in-game item, the Cerebral Accelerator, which is a military-grade implant that significantly increases a new pilot's skill development. This will allow new players to get into the thick of the game sooner, without being first required to spend months of real time training basic piloting skills.
Bear in mind, these boosts are only temporary, working for just the first 30 days of the pilot's life, so don't waste it! Lastly, the Cerebral Accelerator will be delivered to only the first character created on the account - make it count!
