Jumpgate Evolution: Conflux Sentients Launch Another Attack On Quantar Space

The initial wave of Conflux attacking Quantar Core ended when Quantar pilot SingleShot downed a confirmed Conflux Sentient. However, shortly after pilots in the sector began clearing the infestations sealing Quantar Core from outside aid, another wave of Conflux descended upon them.

Throughout the evening Sentient activity was reported in various sectors of Quantar Space and eventually even The Gurge in Octavian Space, including multiple instances of unusually high level conflux defending infestations. As many as 30 separate infestations are believed to have occured throughout Quantar space, as well as an infestation sealing off Evenings End station in The Gurge.

On 103.8.13 Sentient Conflux activity was reported at all factional Core stations. Since then, six additional Conflux attacks have been reported. Of those six attacks, all but one was an attack on Quantar Core. The exception, a Conflux Sentient attack on Outpost station in Octavian space on 103.10.5, occurred during the midst of Operation Starfire after the Quantar portion of the operation had been completed by the Arcadians squad. During that time frame, participants in Operation Starfire were relying heavily on the Maul custom producer in Outpost station sector, due to Outpost being a production center of synthetics and fuel cells, two key ingredients in Nuclear weaponry production.

This morning, Dr Aulus Calatorius, Director of the Conflux Studies Division of TRI Research, made the following statement:

We have spent a great deal of time analyzing the recent series of attacks against Quantar Core station, and we have run assorted different scenario simulations. It is the belief of the Conflux Studies Division that Quantar Core will come under a direct attack, similar to the one seen against Amananth several weeks ago. Our simulations suggest that the recent attacks are leading up to a full scale attack against the equipment markets at Quantar Core. If you recall, at Amananth, the sentient conflux used 'Parasite' missiles to get past the station defenses and degenerate stocks of power plants into their base commodities. If the results of the simulations are correct, we will see a similar attack, in the very near future, against Quantar Core.
