Jumpgate Evolution: US-Quantar Core Attacked

Last night, Quantar Core station found itself under a sustained attack by multiple sentient conflux. Starting at approximately 9:30 Ekoos, large numbers of Kraken class drone conflux were spotted harassing pilots in and around Quantar Core station sector. The drones appeared to be supporting at least half a dozen C17-S 'Lamprey' class sentient conflux. The attack against Quantar Core lasted several hours, and was accompanied by multiple gate infestations which not only cut off Quantar Core from outside assistance, but also Quantar space.

During the apex of the attack, defending pilots had extreme difficulty keeping up with clearing the infestations before other gates were infested. The defending pilots also came under repeated attack from both drone and sentient conflux.

Dr Calatorius, TRIR-CSD, issued the following statement this morning:

"We have spent a great deal of time analyzing the recent series of attacks against Quantar Core station, and we have run assorted different scenario simulations. It is the belief of the Conflux Studies Division that Quantar Core will come under a direct attack, similar to the one seen against Amananth several weeks ago. Our simulations suggest that the recent attacks are leading up to a full scale attack against the equipment markets at Quantar Core. If you recall, at Amananth, the sentient conflux used 'Parasite' missiles to get past the station defenses and degenerate stocks of power plants into their base commodities. If the results of the simulations are correct, we will see a similar attack, in the very near future, against Quantar Core. We urge pilots to take whatever steps are necessary to protect the critical equipment stocks at Quantar Core station."

No other high ranking TRI official could be reached for comment, although anonymous sources indicated that various high level meetings were taking place to discuss the Quantar Core situation.
