Wondering what to do with yourself as you wait for Cataclysm to launch?
With just a scant few hours to go before launch, denizens of Azeroth are champing at the bit to get started with the new zones and content of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, the third expansion for the popular MMORPG from Blizzard Entertainment. However, ff you haven't purchased the expansion via digital download in anticipation of getting every possible second of playtime in once the servers go live, fear not - you still have a shot at playing tonight for a few hours before stumbling puffy-eyed to work or school tomorrow.
If you happen to be in Southern California tonight, December 6, you can head on down to the Fountain Valley Fry's Electronics at 9pm PST and celebrate the launch with members of the WoW development team, catch a performance by The Artist Formerly Known As Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain, see a dance contest, and more.
Not local to Southern California? Don't sweat it; plenty of other retail stores are having their own midnight events. GameStop, Best Buy, and Walmart have midnight events at participating locations, for starters. Check the links above to find a location near you.
Of course, if there's nothing near you (or if you're like me and you will be patiently awaiting launch-day delivery of a Collector's Edition from amazon.com), my condolences - it looks like you'll have to get a good night's sleep. For shame.
