In December, Wildstorm will plumb the depths of the Thundercats a little more in two one-shots, Thundercats Origins: Heroes & Villains and Thundercats Origins: Vilalins & Heroes. The issues feature stories about the Tcats past - not so far back that there eyes weren't open, but back nonetheless.

Spearheading the two books is Ford Lytle Gilmore, who worked to bring the property to Wildstorm in the first place. "Basically, the Origins books further develop the Thundercats backstory, delving into the history of Thundera and the Thundercats and exploring the origins of some of the heroes and villains we know from the cartoon," Gilmore said. "There will be two issues coming out later this year; Thundercats: Origins - Heroes and Villains #1 and Thundercats: Origins - Villains and Heroes #1. Hopefully these books will prove successful enough to warrant more issues exploring the back stories of the world of the Thundercats.

"I'm writing three stories in each book - the 16 page lead story, and two of the three 8-pagers, and Ken Siu-Chong is writing the other 8-pager in each," Gilmore said. "Udon and Studio XD is handling the art for the lead stories in each book, as well as one of the 8-pagers in each. Other artists include Joaquim Dos Santos, who's a director on the Justice League cartoon, and Grafiksismik's Dub and Pierre-Andre Dery."

Other artists on the two issues are Carlo Barberi and Tom Bancroft.
