She's given up her criminal ways, she's become something of an erstwhile champion of the East End of Gotham City, she's been Slam Bradley's main squeeze, played tonsil-hockey with Batman, and is just wrapping up a road trip with her best friend, Holly. Catwoman #24 hits this week, and we've got what you need to be Up to Date.

Catching up then, "Wild Ride" started in issue #20 with the premise that Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman needed to get her best friend, Holly (yes, the same former teenage hooker who propositioned and stabbed in the leg the newly-returned-to-Gotham Bruce Wayne the first night he went out to fight crime in Batman: Year One) thanks to what happened to her in the mess with the former boss of Gotham's East End, Black Mask.

"Basically, after the terrible incident with the Black Mask -- I think we all remember the force-feeding of the eye, right? -- and the aftermath of it, Selina and Holly needed to get out of Gotham for a while," writer Ed Brubaker explained. "Just to get a fresh perspective on themselves and to have some time away. Also, Selina set up Holly with Ted Grant - Wildcat [issue #20] so he could start training her to handle herself better. Getting beaten up by a gang of kids can really take a lot of your confidence away, and that needed to be restored. So they've been driving around, having adventures, and Selina's got another secret goal in mind for this trip that Holly doesn't know about."
