Our friends over at Gamespy have been running a series on the history of MMOGs (from the earliest text games onward), the design challenges, what's to come in the future, and more.

They've talked the creators of classics and games to come, such as Ultima Online, EverQuest, Star Wars Galaxies, Middle-Earth Online, Dungeons & Dragons Online, The Sims Online... the list goes on.
